hatchet drift- short
Short drifts are for use under the power hammer or press. just long enough to form the eye and support it during forging. These are forged from 5160 or 4140 depending on what is in stock, and matched to the long drifts i make. Early versions were H-13, but experience led me to believe that the spring steel was more than adequate.
